Why I Came to College

A question I have put to myself many times in the past two academic years. But the answer is always the same college education is something I truly want to do in my life and it is worthwhile.

There are many reasons for my choosing to attend college. The main one is that I enjoy learning and gaining knowledge. I remember that as my high school education was drawing to a close, my desire for continuing to learn felt when I realized I would not be content to simply end my educational career with high school and enter the working world so soon. I decided to enter college not only because it is a place where I can continue to seek scientific truths, but also it is a place where I can be exposed to various new, original ideas. It helps to expand my horizons and make me a well-rounded person. Of course I must admit that I chose to attend college also because I felt it was a practical and necessary step I took to ensure a secure future for myself. For in today’s world, a college education has become almost essential if one wished to compete in the job market and to find a worthwhile position.

For these reasons, I never mind spending beautiful nights on paperwork; I never consider myself miserable and unfairly burdened; and I never think college education is a waste of time and money.

1. How to overcome my difficulties in learning English

When it comes to difficulties of English study, Different people have diverse opinion, such as hard of hearing, less word, confusion of grammar, even poor writing skills etc. As for me, beside what have mentioned above, I have no enough time and energy to learning, which due to a fulltime work and a lot of housework.

How to solute these problem？I think strong will is key to success. Thus, some measures must be taken as following are.

To begin with, I make good use of all available time. I usually study my English until 11 o’clock at night. Then, I make a record on new words with MP3 so that I can review new words on the way both from home to unit and from unit to home. Furthermore, the most important way is, I always make good notes in the class, and review carefully again and again after the class. Finally, I make some simulated composition through the way that translate English composition into Chinese then translate it into English and imitate it time and again.

It just as proverb goes “slow and steady wins the race”. Eventually, I have a great progress in my learning English. Certainly, the progress is limited. So I still eager to attain some available advise from teacher and classmates.
